Recipe Challenge

Today's recipe challenge is to use hardware, embossing & sewing/stitching. I had to make another "congrats" card for my niece, she should be getting her license in the next couple weeks. Here's the card I made.

I used my cuttlebug and embossed the cardstock with the fancy skull folder, distressed it and inked it with black ink then stitched some of the torn pieces of cardstock. I added a skull that I used black stickles on then a key strung onto some ball chain looped through an eyelet.

Pink Elephant Challenge

Time for another challeng from The Pink Elephant. This week's challenge was to make an Easter card. For my card I used a Dream Weavers stencil & ran it through my cuttlebug to emboss the bunnies then I inked the embossing. I used fun flock on the bunnies then added a pom pom for their tails. For the scallop border I used two different Rosie's Roadshow stamps for the carrots and "I smell carrots" saying.

Recipe Challenge

Time for another recipe challenge at Sketches by Tamara. I got to choose the recipe for this week which was a masculine theme, metal embellishments and make it grungy (distressed, inked, or torn edges). I had fun with this card, I enjoy doing the grungy look even though it usually calls for more detail (for me at least). My nephew will be getting his license in June so I decided to use this challenge to make a card for him. Of course I had to add a little hotwheels car for my pic being that I have a huge hotwheels collection :)

Here's how I made my card: I ran the 3 black coredinations cardstock squares through my cuttlebug then sanded the embossing. The checkered patterned paper was distressed with some of it peeled back and stapled then inked up with some black ink, I ran some ball chain with some washers and a couple charm keys on it across the card, the "congrats" was cut using a cuttlebug diecut, then I anchored the whole card with some Making Memories screw snaps. I think he'll like it, I might have to add a gas card to it when I send it out. Now I need to get a girly one made for my niece that'll be getting her license probalby in April!

Card Sketch Challenge

We had a great blog hop weekend at The Pink Elephant. I'll be announcing the winner of my blg candy from this weekend later on this week.

This week's challenge at The Pink Elephant is a sketch challenge. I love working with sketches, they give me a good starting point for my cards. I made an Easter card this week since I have to get a few made and sent out.

I made my eggs out of some Bazzil Bling cardstock using a punch and then ran them through my cuttlebug using the swiss dots, swirls & stylized flowers floders then decorated them up a bit. I added a little scallop punched border and some pom pom trim at the bottom, then I added some little prima flowers with some purple jewels and then added a little handstitching to the corners.

Here's the sketch we used this week. Be sure to stop over at The Pink Elephant to see what the other design team members did and if you play along with us be sure to link your card too!

The Pink Elephant Easter Blog Hop

Welcome to The Pink Elephant Easter Blog Hop! If you didn't arrive here from Ann's blog, you will want to go to The Pink Elephant and start from the beginning. You won't want to miss the fun things that everyone has to share! Some of the design team girls are offering blog candy too!

I made an Easter card I wanted to share with you today. I had this egg punch that I punched a bunch of eggs out with and thought they needed a basket so I just cut this basket out of cardstock. I wanted my basket to have a weave so I took my distressed stripes cuttlebug embossing folder and ran my basket through horizontally first, I then inked up the embossing then ran it through again verically & inked up the embossing again, the first run through got flattened when I ran it through again so that's why I inked it. I also embossed my eggs with a variety of cuttlebug folders. I thought my basket needed some grass so I added some bag filler to the basket then embellished with some flowers. This was a simple quick card. I'd love to see yours if you make one, just link it in my comments.

I also made a little Easter project. I altered an egg carton that holds 6 plastic eggs. This carton is a little sample of what my tutorial will be on at The Pink Elephant. So if you're interested in learning how to make your own egg carton for a cute Easter project be sure to check out the tutorial on saturday at 4:00 pm (EST).

Now for some blog candy. I am offering this very egg carton with 6 eggs filled with scrapping embellishments! To be entered to win my blog candy just leave a comment in this post by midnight (EST) Sunday and I will announce the winner on Friday, March 27th on my blog. In your comment tell me your favorite color and three of your favorite little embellishments so I know what to put in the eggs :)

After you are done on my blog, be sure to hop over to Lori's blog to see what she is sharing!!

Recipe Challenge

Today's recipe challenge at Sketches by Tamara is to use 3 ribbons, staples & a calendar (or numbers). Im swamped with birthdays this time of year so I took this challenge and made a birthday card for my nephew. I had fun distressing & grunging up this card to give it more of a masculine look. It's hard to see the calendar in the pic but it's just one I printed off online then used my Stampin Up spiral punch for the top of it. I highlighted the day of his birthday with the circle & arrow. Everything I used is pretty much just scraps I had laying around.

The Pink Elephant Challenge #4

This week's challenge at The Pink Elephant was to use ribbons and diecuts. I had fun with this card, I started out using some of my new patterned paper from the Colorbok Friendly Forest collection and pulled the colors from there. I used my Martha Stewart scallop dot border punch for the edges of the card base and can I just say I absolutely love border punches & I think I need to grow my collection hehe (I only have two), I used the swiss dots & stylized flowers Cuttlebug embossing folders to emboss the cardstock. I used my new Butterfly Reflections Spellbinders die for the butterly & added some dew drops to it. I tied a bow around the card then strung some buttons & flower onto a Chloe's Closet Making Memories pin & poked it through the ribbon.

Be sure to head on over the The Pink Elephant to see what the other design team members did & we'd also love for you to play along. Thanks for stopping by!
